Currently, the recycling methods of refractories are limited and simple. There is still a big potential for its development. 

According to the parts applied and the conditions after used, different recycling technologies are used. 

The general method is classifying. After sorted, the slag layer is removed. Then the refractories are crushed and screened to obtain materials that meet the specifications. Then the materials are mixed into raw materials to produce products. 

Magnesia carbon bricks are sorted and treated to obtain materials. The materials are added into the raw materials of magnesia carbon bricks or magnesia carbon mortar in a radio of 5% -20%. Al2O3-SiC-C brick used in the torpedo tanker can be used as particulate materials to produce alumina carbon bricks and castables. Magnesia chrome bricks can be used as an alternative to midrange magnesia sand and chromite powder to produce magnesia chrome coating and magnesia chrome ramming material. Alumina magnesia brick with a size of greater than 20mm can be crushed into 1-5mm regenerated pellets and <0.088mm regenerated powder which can be used in small and medium blast furnaces.
